I’ve always wanted to shot a couple in St Augustine, Florida. Old Town St. Augustine is beautiful. This city has so much charm and history, even in the neighborhoods surrounding it. When Aaron and Kayla asked me to shoot their images there I was thrilled. Read below for more of their story and you will see first hand how cute they are.

So how did you meet?

In his words: We met in our church youth group 6 years ago. She was sooo into me and I kept turning her down. Just kidding, it was actually the exact opposite. The first time I saw her I thought she was beautiful. I eventually worked up the nerve to ask her out. We went on a couple dates, but it wasn’t the right time for us to start dating. Even though it didn’t work out the first time, I wasn’t defeated. A few years later I managed to ask her out again and this time it led to our wonderful relationship of about 3 years.

In her words: Yup, that’s pretty much it! Even though the timing wasn’t right, we were still really good friends all of those years. I have loved him ever since that very first date. It just took me a while to realize it.

Can you describe your perfect day?

Aaron: I can easily describe my perfect day because it has already happened! For the past two years, I have tried to make Kayla’s birthday very special by “Chasing the Sun” with her. What that means is I plan a trip starting from somewhere on the east coast of Florida and then travel to the west coast for sunset. During the trip, I would plan fun things to do that she would like. For example the first year we woke up really early and traveled to New Smyrna beach for sunrise. Along the way, we stopped by Starbucks to get our favorite coffees and then a nice little restaurant by the beach for breakfast. Next stop was Orlando where we got a couple’s massage and lunch. We eventually made our way down to Honeymoon Island on the west coast for dinner and the sunset. I believe this is my perfect day because she was so happy and surprised by everything. We had a blast!

Kayla: I would have to agree with Aaron. These are pretty much the most perfect days ever. But for me, any day where we can go to the beach or travel, or explore a new area together is a perfect day for me. Just being free together and adventuring.

Side note: This is such a great idea.

What do you love about your partner?

He Said: There are many things I love about Kayla. A few of my favorite things are her loyalty and love for adventure. In our relationship, I have never once questioned her love for me and I’ve never had a second thought about her being unfaithful. She is probably the most loyal person I’ve ever met and its one of the things I love most about her. The other thing I love about Kayla is her love for adventure. I am naturally a homebody but Kayla somehow finds a way to get me out the door and on the craziest adventures. It’s the reason I am doing this photo shoot! Never a dull moment with her and I love it!

She said: I love everything about him, it’s kind of ridiculous and annoying. 😉 But my favorite things are his sense of adventure and love for the outdoors. Even though he is kind of a homebody, he is always up to do anything with me and usually loves every minute of it. He is very content with just being calm and quiet with nature and I love that! His sense of humor and his laugh are great. I am always laughing around him and could listen to his laugh all day. He is also the most caring person in the entire world. Aaron would do anything for me He always studies my personality type and tries to figure me out so he can understand me better. I think that’s so amazing. Aaron loves me so intently and purposefully that I never have a doubt in my mind his love or faithfulness to me.

What are some hobbies that you share?

We love anything and everything outdoors. Some things we do is camping, kayaking, bike riding, hiking, exploring new beaches, and going on long random drives, etc. We also share an intense love for Starbucks and Disney.
